Abdullah Al Salem University (AASU) is a newly established English-medium public university in Kuwait. AASU is looking for skilled candidates to fill various positions supporting academic and research activities.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Lab engineers at AASU will play a crucial role in supervising lab technicians and other technical staff supporting academic and research endeavors. Responsibilities include: 

• Overseeing the preparations and setting-up of laboratory equipment and materials for experiments and demonstrations.
• Supporting faculty members and researchers in conducting experiments and research projects.
• Ensuring safety protocols are followed and maintaining cleanliness and suitable organization of laboratory environment.
• Overseeing the troubleshooting process of technical issues and collaborating with faculty to enhance lab experiments and lab activities.
    

Required Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills: 

• Good eye-hand coordination specifically while using tools and experimental sets for testing or collecting and preparing specimens for analysis.
• Strong technical skills and familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures.
• Designing and writing experiment handbooks and manuals.
• Supervision of experimental data gathering and analysis.
• Grading of student experiment reports.
• Good organizational skills.
• Strong ability to work in a team and communication skills.
• Understanding of operations and maintenance procedures of equipment in laboratories.
  Computer skills for appropriate tools. 
• Supervision of lab technicians in following instructions and ensuring strict adherence to procedures.
• Supervision of safety procedures and instructions.
   

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field with minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with minimum GPA of 2.67/4.0 or equivalent.
• Previous higher education lab experience for at least 3 years.
