Position Summary & Responsibilities
Lab technicians at AASU will play a crucial role in supporting academic and research endeavors. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and setting up laboratory equipment and materials for experiments and demonstrations.
- Assisting faculty members and researchers in conducting experiments and research projects.
- Ensuring safety protocols are followed and maintaining a clean and organized laboratory environment.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and collaborating with faculty to enhance lab activities.
- Providing technical support to students and researchers during their experiments and projects.
Required Skills
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills:
- Good eye-hand coordination, especially in the case of lab technicians in the specific field, who have to use tools and experimental sets for testing or collecting and preparing specimens for analysis.
- Ability to write and implement experimental design handbooks and manuals.
- Capacity of experimental data gathering and analysis.
- Command of output report writing and data visualization.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Understanding of electronic and computerized equipment in laboratories.
- Ability to follow instructions and strictly adhere to procedures.
- Ability to follow and meet safety procedures and instructions.
- Strong technical skills and familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Excellent communication and ability to work in a team.
- Computer skills for appropriate tools are required.
- Professional proficiency in Arabic and English.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Diploma in a relevant field with a rating of Very Good or higher.
- Previous experience (in a higher education lab) is preferred.
- Passing oral and practical test administered by AASU.
